Enticing Offer
This is awesome. Hmm... free champaigne is quite enticing, even if it does come from the frogs. Oh well. Especially now that I am "France" (see below), I suppose I can put my ideological differences with the French aside and partake. Veuve Cliquot here I come!

I can't believe this!

You're France!

Most people think you're snobby, but it's really just that
you're better than everyone else.  At least you're more loyal to the real
language, the fine arts, and the fine wines than anyone else.  You aren't
worth beans in a fight, unless you're really short, but you're so good at other
things that it usually doesn't matter.  Some of your finest works were
intended to be short-term projects.

UPDATE: Ok, so each time you take it, it asks you different questions. This time, I came out as Fiji! What!?

You're Fiji!

As calm, relaxed, and removed from life as they come, you're just so
chilled out, it hurts people to see you.  Everyone aspires to be where you are, but
most of them just can't put their stress away.  Little do they know that even you
sometimes have inner turmoil and struggles!  For the most part, though, it's sun and
fun for you, and that's the way you like it.  It's just sort of hard to get things
done with all that partying.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Ok, so, this quiz sucks. Neither of these describe me at all. Well, I suppose the France one is SOMEWHAT accurate. But still. For shame!

Some recent posts of mine on the YFP site
The first one is a link to a Guardian article about an Israeli Ph.D. student denied admission into a biology program with an Oxford professor because he is Israeli. Apparently the Oxford professor is being disciplined by the university. Good.

The second is a link to an OpinionJournal piece by famed author Cynthia Ozick about the Palestinians. She's my hero of the week.

Congress Lacking Balls? Naaaahhhh! Never!

I think it's a very sad commentary on our screwed up political system that the so-called "free-marketeers" in Congress (ie: the Republicans) have basically bent over the chair and completely given in on the prescription drug issue. The reason they did it is so that they don't get attacked on the issue in the next election. Rather than being leaderly and convincing people why this is a bad idea, they have decided to sacrifice their prinicples and completely sell out. The plan is expected to cost about $400 billion. But, it opens the door to more extensive plans in the future as drugs get more advanced and hence more expensive.
